Good food excellent Dominican "pastelitos" meat, chicken and ham and cheese pie's, these are fried; try the natural juices, good combinations. Ok service Mainly food to go, although they have some tables but loud music if you choose to eat in.
I love this restaurant! The food here is so good and fresh. Its usually busy so make sure you know there might be a wait but you wont regret it! I never miss out on the pastelitos or their sandwiches with their hot sauce! Ill be going there again!

This is the best little place you never heard of if you're not from around here. Delicious empanadas and other Latin/Carib food. Go out of your way to eat here.
There's a reason people in the area know exactly what you're talking about when you mention Miguelina's. A staple of the City of Lawrence, this restaurant has served amazing Caribbean food to its people for years and years. The pastelitos are my personal go to (ground beef or chicken) as well as their chicken sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone even if just passing through Lawrence.
I ordered through Grubhub yesterday but there were some weird system issues. The girl at the counter was very nice. She offered to bring my sandwiches to car since the sandwich would take about 10 minutes. I ordered 2 beef empanadas, a cubano and ham and cheese sandwich. They girl asked if I wanted letters, mayo and tomatoes on the sandwiches but I opted for them plain. They were really good. Just wish the cubano had pickles and mustard. Since the beef empanada would take a while, I got the chicken instead. Everything was delicious! I would definitely order from here again if I am in the area. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I ate everything without grabbing a picture first. The empanadas were big and crunchy. The sandwich was about a foot long.
Right in the "downtown" area of Lawrence. Nice little comfortable spot with parking on the side. You can walk right up to the counter/bar area sit there & order whatever you desire. I usually go for a nice sandwich with a homemade juice. Always hits the spot. & can't leave without grabbing at least one Pastelito which is always priced right. I love this place from the vibe to the workers who look like they are all family to the great Latin/Dominican food.
Their empanadas are a must-have if you're around. And, as other reviewers have mentioned, great price/value too. Their coffee was good too.
